Round Played: with Carla Perez –

Not as often as I would like – but I do get to play with local girls –
On June 28th 2015 I played the Kauai Lagoons Golf Course with Carla Perez from Lihue, Hawaii. Yes, I do get to play with local girls too. (Click on the pictures for a larger view – then use the browser ‘back’ button.)

We had a beautiful day. It was tailor made for fun – and we worked it.
Maybe Carla had more fun – It is always more fun to play from the short grass.

The par 3 fifth hole presented special challenges to me this day – a double without losing a ball. Still, there was one smile on this hole.

Carla and I aren’t exactly famous golfers yet. However, we did draw a gallery of sorts.
A pair of Nene (Hawaiian geese) waddled out to watch us play through.

This was a great day. We laughed too much to be seriously competitive, but out by the ocean out games got better.

But I had a little old guy game of my own.

How’s that for an old guy? And yes, I made the putt.

But Carla didn’t let my birdie distract her. She was in the grove, she settled into a routine.
Carla’s routine? Fairways and greens of course.

She seemed to enjoy walking down the fairways with her putter in her hand.
.
This was a great round. We cheered the good shots and laughed at the bad ones. It was the way golf should be.
