Round Played: with Jay Paynter and Charlie Goodwin –

This round was different — I already knew the people.
On October 28th 2014 I played the Kauai Lagoons course with my old buddy Jay Paynter from Incline Village, Nevada. Our friend Charlie Goodwin joined us.
Charlie and Jay — they flew over on Jay’s aeroplane to play golf with me.
Back in another day we all played in the same golf club. Years passed – but on the golf course we were still the same.
Wayne and Jay – still buddies.
Three buddies out to have a good time on the course. And when the three of us put our minds to something – it is going to happen. Even the 9th hole didn’t phase us.
The 9th hole is a long and challenging par 4.
But Charlie was up to the challenge.
And Jay actually looked forward to it.
Of course down by the ocean we paused for pictures. On the Kauai Lagoons course it is more or less required.

Charlie had a bunch (his putter was hot), I had none (my putter was not), and Jay got one birdie.
Jay and Charlie — Can you tell which guy just birdied 16? — Yep, Jay.
This was a fun round – golfing with old buddies – it was the way golf should be.

Joe still owns and operates a bar called “Cabin Fever” in Yerington, Nevada. I guess operation a bar is a full time job because he doesn’t get out to play golf with me much anymore.
