Round Played: with Tiffany Chaisson –

Question: What happens when two Golf Bloggers play golf? Answer: They talk … and have fun.
On January 20th 2017 I played the Puakea Golf Course with my golf blogging buddy Tiffany Chaisson from Prince Edward Island, Canada. While we had never met in person before, we expected to have a fun day … and it turned out exactly that way.

Do you know where Prince Edward Island is located? Neither did I, so I Googled it and printed out a map.
Tiffany writes a blog called Fairway Foodie. And since there are always two sides to every story … read her account of our round at https://fairwayfoodie.golf/2017/01/27/puakea-golf-club/ – just to keep me honest.
Did I mention yet that Tiffany and I think golf should be fun? Well we do, and that “fun” includes breakfast. The Ho’okipa Café at Puakea serves one of the best … so we started there.
.
During breakfast Dan Urwiler, the General Manager of the Puakea Golf Course, stopped by to chat. He wanted to talk about a newspaper article I had recently published about his work … and to meet Tiffany. Yeah, we talked right up to our tee time.
.
Then Tiffany and I took our conversation out onto the golf course. We did manage to shut up long enough to hit the ball and admire the golf course. Puakea has some interesting holes.

.
We laughed and talked the whole round. Yeah, Tiffany and I had a great time. However, the golf course did help a little with that.

This was another fantastic day on a golf course. Golfing with a great buddy just has to be fun … it was the way golf should be.
In other places I’ve said that, “Kauai seeps into your blood, steal your heart, and settle on your soul.” Perhaps something like that happened to Tiffany … she plans to come back for her birthday every year.
This year I’ve again set a goal of playing golf with 100 people I haven’t met. I fell short last year, and I’m off to a slow start this year, but Tiffany is number 1. Want to be in that number …
Come play golf with me.

Goodness, what were you eating for breakfast! Sounds like you had a great day 🙂 I am sure you will reach your magic number ‘100’ this year.
Aloha Wendy,
The breakfast dish is called Loco Moco. It is basically rice and a ground meat paddy covered with brown gravy and topped with an egg. Island folks really like it. And once they get past having rice for breakfast, visitors like it too. It is tasty, filling, and easy on the stomach. I appreciate your confidence in reaching my goal. I believe the truism, “If you are attaining your goals – they aren’t high enough”. I look forward to meeting many more people (and someday … you).

Aloha Wayne,
Glad you guys got to tee it up! I’m sure there wasnt a dull moment. Looks like we missed out on a good course when we opted out on the Puakea round…something new for next time.
Cheers
Josh
Aloha Josh,
Hahaha … you know us. We didn’t have the fastest round on record. But with Tiff and I both telling stories, it was probably one of the noisiest. We had a lot of fun. I’m already looking forward to next time.
A Hui Hou,
Wayne
Looks like a beautiful and fun day in Kauai!
Aloha Beth,
You know it girl – you really “know” it. We had a blast.
A Hui Hou,
