Mini Post: 2016 Travel and Visitor Calendar –
By Wayne Halm –
I am becoming a “home-body”.
There is no use denying it … the records are indisputable. Last year I only left Kauai twice. Once to play golf with Josh and Beth on Lanai, and once to visit my ill Mother in New Orleans.
On the other hand my wife, Sally, continued her travels unabated. Click on the link below to see our travel calendar for 2016 (it is a PDF file).

Why didn’t I travel more? I could have. Sally pressed me to do so. But I didn’t … so I guess I’m where I want to be.
Something about Kauai seeps into your blood, steals your heart, and settles in your soul. It is wonderful. Want to feel that experience? Then get on an aeroplane and …
Come play golf with me.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to say in paradise. Generally, I find that is were you feel the most calm and at ease. Besides, you are still playing golf and having fun!
Cheers
Jim
Aloha Jim,
Somehow I knew that you would understand. This year has presented a few bumps so far … but I am getting back to playing golf and having fun.

Aloha Wayne,
Having visited Kauai now, I can’t say I blame you for wanting to stay put! I wanted to do the same thing once we were there. Hope all is well buddy.
Cheers
Josh
Aloha Josh,
Yep, if you’re not careful it can be hard to leave this place. There have been a couple of bumps in the road so far this year, but all is well now. My best to Beth.

Great to see that picture again that I took of the you ‘guys’. One of the pictures that you took of me was quite an inspiration as I’ve lost 85 lbs. since I got back home.
I hope to be back in your ‘backyard’ sometime later this year. Hope to be able to see you and play another round then.
Aloha Chris.
Wow! 85 pounds!! That is IMPRESSIVE!!! And yes, we need to play golf again … I will look forward to it. Thanks for taking the picture, it is a favorite.

Wayne,
I’m sorry to hear about your mom’s health. It’s been about two years since we last played, and have been following your post ever since then. One of the two friends of mine we played with at Kiahuna golf course, past away last year. He felt it was time and Kauai, too was his forever adopted home. 45 years on the island! I hope to one day make Kauai my last home…there something about the island of Kauai.
Best regards and good health to you and Salley,
Tip
Aloha Tip,
Thank you. Long time readers are rare and precious indeed, I appreciate that. My Mom is stable now, not good but stable. Sorry to hear about your friend, I enjoyed meeting Bob and Bill. Your “last home” is a big decision, perhaps you should come out again and do more research.
A Hui Hou,
Wayne
