Round Played: First in a while –
By Wayne Halm –
This year I did not get in my traditional Christmas Day round. I just got tangled up in too much stuff. On the day after Christmas the ‘need’ was strong and I headed over to the Hokuala Course.
I had to play as a single but that was okay for once. The fewer witnesses to my performance the better. The grass felt good under my feet, but that was the only ‘feel’ I had. I three putted the first three greens and on the fourth I substituted chips for two of the putts. Not pretty. But I was smiling anyway – I was on a golf course again!
As a single I didn’t have anyone to take pictures of. Their loss, I took pictures anyway.

The front nine was still closed as the groundskeepers work on the Bermuda Decline. They are making progress. There are still spots, but the greens are looking better.
.

One of my favorite shots. Come play golf with me and be in it.

I did hit some good shots, I just couldn’t string them together. I did not score well. Next time! Next time I will play better – but I was playing golf!
Come play golf with me.

Not to worry, you are golfing again and you have an awesome deck! Next time will be better!
Cheers
Jim
Aloha Jim,
Thank you. it did feel good to be on a course again, I smiled the whole round. I even laughed at some of my awful chips and putts. Next time will be better – I’ve got to keep telling myself that.
We did get to use the deck for Christmas parties.

Aloha Wayne,
It happens to the best of us, and sounds like you may be a bit rusty. All the more reason to get out there again soon! A “bad” day on a beautiful course is till better than most other things I can think of.
Cheers!
Josh
Aloha Josh,
I am a long way from ‘the best’. It has been my experience that the ‘feel shots’ are the first to go and the last to return. I will coax them back and enjoy the rest of the game until they return. Merry Christmas.
A Hui Hou,
Wayne
