Mini Post: Deck Rebuild –
By Wayne Halm –
Oh yeah – Manly Stuff – Noisy Stuff!! After all the staining, it was fun to turn on the power tools again.
I figured out how to attach my railing posts – and got a couple of them in place before the weather turned bad.

The board on top of the posts is just so Sally can visualize the height of the proposed rail. Subject to her approval of course.
.
Attaching the post to both the concrete and the frame produced a solid connection. Determining exactly where to drill the bolt hole in the concrete was a challenge, but I found a way.
Now it is just a matter of doing it nine more times – or should be anyway.
Check back tomorrow and see if it turns out as ‘cookie cutter’ as I think.
Then — Come play golf with me.

It is looking good! Using manly power tools is always a bonus when building a deck.
Cheers

Aloha Jim,
Yes, the tools are sort of fun to use. I love it when they do what they are supposed to do. Sally teases me about ‘boys and their toys’.

Aloha Wayne,
Just seeing those power tools is making me feel like a bigger man! Maybe Sally should shoot a video so we can see the magician at work with the power tools?
Cheers
Josh
Aloha Josh,
Not much chance of getting a video out of Sally. She thinks a ‘magic’ power tool would be one that doesn’t make noise. When I turn one on, she leaves the area.
