Mini Post: Deck Rebuild –
By Wayne Halm –
After leveling it was time to put in the support posts. I bought some concrete blocks – and to my horror, discovered that I would have to cut them to fit.
Cutting concrete blocks was new to me, I had never done it before. But the guy at Home Depot said I could do it if I bought a diamond encrusted saw blade. (Sally commented that it seemed like a waste of good diamonds.)
I had no confidence – and no choice – so I got the blade.
The blade worked as advertised. I was delighted. Cutting the blocks was as easy as cutting wood. In a couple of hours I had the support posts in place.

Cutting the blocks was a dusty process, but I was happy with the results. Then I stood back and took the picture.
Yep, I left the door open – and yep, dust covered everything in the den! It will take me a while to live that one down.
Still, I have another “first” behind me, and the deck is progressing. Check back tomorrow and see what happens next.
Then – Come play golf with me.
