Mini Post: Nine holes with Kevin Gallivan –

October 11th, 2015 was a busy day for me –
I had to drive my wife,Sally, to the airport at 10am. However, by starting early I was able to get in nine holes with Kevin Gallivan from Sausaleto, California. Yeah, we played the ocean nine at Kauai Lagoons.

Kevin and I played well, lots of fairways and greens. The birdie putts were stubborn but Kevin finally coaxed one in on 16. That put a smile on his face that lasted through 17 and 18. We were happy golfers.
Nine holes and I still got Sally to the airport on time – not a bad morning. It was the way golf should be.

I would like that very much. I enjoy my golf, I get a thrill out of hitting a good shot – I even get a thrill out of someone else hitting a good shot. But at my skill level not all of my shots are good, then I just laugh it off and look forward to the next shot. Golf should be fun.
We play year round out here. Consider a trip and come play golf with me.

Thanks for the invitation. Not sure I will ever make it to Hawaii, however I have learned to never say never. I agree about the good shot – no matter who hits it. Keep swinging, only good things can happen!

I love that you managed to squeeze in a 9 hole game. I think some people don’t play as much golf as they’d like because of the time commitment of 18 holes. Absolutely nothing wrong with getting a quick 9 in and still being able to enjoy the game.

Even in paradise there are demands on my time. 9 is only half as much fun as 18 – but it is infinitely more fun than working. And we did have a good time.
