Round Played: with Tip Kon –
By Wayne Halm –
Inappropriate Behavior?
On September 6th 2015 I played the Kauai Lagoons Golf Course with Tip Kon from Seattle, Washington. A guy named Ted joined us and we set out to have a good time.

The Tiger hasn’t been playing much on Sundays, but that didn’t mean I couldn’t. I was happy on this day, nice weather and I struck the ball well.
.
The inappropriate behavior? I was caught between being gracious and being proper. Ted decided to take his shirt off. I gave him a stern look but didn’t say anything – now I wish I had.
.
How about you? Would you have asked Ted to put his shirt back on? Leave me a comment below with your opinion.
Attire aside, this was a good day. We all hit some memorable shots and had a lot of fun doing it.
.
Out by the ocean we paused for some pictures. (Pictures are sort of mandatory if you play with me.)
.
.
Along the ocean we continued with the memorable shots. I’ve seen two eagles on the 285 yard par-4 16th hole. One I made years ago, and the other on this day – Ted hit the green and made the putt!!!
.
This was a fun round, lots of smiles and laughs. Tip and I enjoyed it so much we decided to do it again. The next day we played the Kiahuna Golf Club with his friends Bob and Bill Farlander.
.
This was the first time I had met Bob and Bill and I wanted to make a good impression. So I dressed conservatively.
.
This was another wonderful round, we laughed our way through this round too. It was the way golf should be.
Come play golf with me.

Wayne,
I agree, probably should have said something, but I can definitely understand how you were caught between a rock and a hard place!
Cheers

Aloha Jim,
I think golf should be fun. If someone comes all the way out here to play, I am definitely in favor of bending the rules in that pursuit. But no shirt was going too far – I feel bad about allowing it.

Not to worry. Next time you will be prepared. In the meantime, keep enjoying the sun!
Cheers

I would keep my shirt on 👍
Aloha
Thank you. From your comment and your blog, you look to be my kind of golfer. Come play golf with me.
A Hui Hou,

Wayne. I would love to come play in Hawaii. That is a dream come true. 👍⛳️
Aloha Wayne,
I too wish you had asked him to keep his shirt on! As much as I understand that he may not want a stellar golf tan, shirtless activities should be left for the beach, or other places….glad you had a good round nonetheless!
Cheers
Josh
Aloha Josh,
I think golf should be fun, and I will bend a lot of rules if it is fun – however, from now on golfers will need to wear shirts to play with me.
A Hui Hou,
Wayne
