Round Played: with Mike Schrager –

Back to the Future – Golf Boarding again –
On July 3rd 2015 I played the Makai Golf Course with Mike Schrager from southern California. You bet we rode the Golf Boards – we went to have FUN. (Click on the pictures for a larger view – then use the browser ‘back’ button.)
.
Our wives, Sally and Georgia, drove up to the north shore of Kauai with us. They planned to shop and sightsee while we golfed.
.
.
.
The course requires a little supervised practice before taking the Golf Boards out.
.
.
Course transportation aside, the Makai Golf Course is an absolutely beautiful challenge.
.
.
.
Learning to ride the Golf Boards only takes a few minutes. But the more you do it the better you get. Compare the videos of Mike on the 2nd hole and Mike on the 17th hole below.
.
.
WARNING: Riding the Golf Boards is so much fun it may impact your game. If there is an ounce of “kid” left in you, you might rush your shots just to get back on the board. (Apparently Mike and I still have a lot of kid in us.)
.
.
This was another great day on the golf course. We laughed, we cheered, and yes, we put more miles on the Golf Boards than was required. We just had FUN. It was the way golf should be.
Come play golf with me.

Aloha Wayne,
I’d sure like to try those golf boards! It almost makes it a hybrid sport between surfing and golfing, can’t find anything wrong with that. Is there a place to put a beer?
Cheers
Josh
Aloha Josh,
Then grab Beth and come play golf with me.
Yes, storage is an issue. On the current model there is but a single cup holder on the handle bar. I used the issue as a reason to clean the old junk out of my golf bag – then shove a second (and third) can in the pockets.
Golfing from the boards is a lot of fun – but the fun can mess with your pre-shot routine..
A Hui Hou,
Wayne
Wayne, A thoroughly enjoyable day with you and our boards. What a hoot! Great course, nice weather that day. Boards would be tough if the weather turns but so would the golf course. Next trip lets get the boards for a few days and just keep cruising around Kauai, from course to course… Do you think they would catch on to us?
Mike S
Aloha Mikey,
I wholeheartedly agree, that was a FUN day. And yes, let’s do it again – and again.
It’s true, the Golf Boards don’t have a roof. But Mikey, you live in southern California and would likely think a rain shower to be a novelty. Let’s “Surf the Earth” until we find out.
A Hui Hou,
Wayne
