Round Played: with Jim Floros –

By Wayne Halm –

Working with the young guys –

On June 19th 2015  played the Kauai Lagoons Golf Course with Jim Floros from San Diego, California.  His two sons, John and Jack, joined us.  (Click on the pictures for a larger view – then use the browser ‘back’ button.)

Jim is an accomplished golfer and it was good to watch him sharing his skills with his sons.

We enjoyed most of the types of shot golf has to offer.  (Okay, maybe I ‘enjoyed’ the putts a little to much on this day.)

I thought the young lads did well.  Oh, they had some bad shots, we all do, but by and large they struck the ball well.  Jim had reason to be proud.

 And Jim was proud.

Jim was working hard, so out by the ocean I decided to do something for him.  We had essentially abandoned his wife, Cheryl, to go play golf.  And I thought some pictures of her guys might ease us back into her good graces.

This was a good day on the course for me.  I got to watch a man teaching his sons the game.  That was a satisfying experience.  It was the way golf should be.

Come play golf with me.

    • Aloha Josh,

The round was fun. As for my ball? Well it had an affinity for the short grass that day. I thought this was a good thing until I noticed its reluctance to leave the grass and fall into the cup.

  1. That really sounds like a great experience, Wayne! Sounds like Jack and John played pretty well, even if they were learning. I am not sure if I would take it as fast as them, but I would love to try as well.
Unfortunatly, my dad do not play golf. But my uncle do, and he have offered to teach me. And you as well 😉

    • Aloha Hanne,

Yes, it was a good experience. I really like seeing people learn things. I love to watch their confidence grow.

It is great that you found someone nearby to teach you golf. Perhaps we can play sometime – I would like that.

I hope your move back to Norway is going well.

      A Hui Hou,
      Wayne
