Round Played : with Les Vasconcellos –
By Wayne Halm –
“Da Plane … Da Plane” — This girl was standing next to Tatoo when he uttered those immortal words –
On May 16th 2015 I played the Kauai Lagoons Golf Course with Les Vasconcellos from Honolulu, Hawaii. His talented friend Sharon Aquino joined us for a fun round. (Click on the pictures for a larger view – then use the browser ‘back’ button.)

This was a great day to be on the golf course – great company, partly cloudy skys, light trade winds –and- our putters were working!

“Jai-yo … Jai-yo” – Jai-yo is Chinese for “go” – I figured I would talk to the balls in their native language – Did it work? It did this time.
.
Good things happened on this day. For the most part we were landing in the fairways, avoiding the bunkers, and hitting the greens.
.
Yeah, we were having fun. Perhaps it was Sharon’s actress background, but she happily posed for pictures – and Les seemed happy to stand beside her.

.
With my picture taking worries minimized I was scoring well. However, the lagoon at 18 put an end to that – it has a habit of doing that.

The 18th hole at Kauai Lagoons. During the last annual cleaning the divers took over 15,000 balls out of this lagoon.
.
The lagoon may have put an end to our low scores, but not our fun. We were not about to let a couple of splashed balls wipe the smiles from our faces.
.
This was a great day on a great golf course. It was the way golf should be.
Come play golf with me.

Aloha Les,
You are very welcome. That was a lot of fun.
A Hui Hou,
Wayne
We were very fortunate to have met Wayne thru mutual friends in Honolulu. It was a beautiful day at the Kauai Lagoons Golf Course, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and played well thanks to Wayne’s expertise of the course. Wayne is an excellent golfer. I would venture to say He IS the most interesting man on Kauai! What a life!!!
Mahalo Nui,
Sharon Aquino
Aloha Sharon,
Thank you, that was a fun day. Your words are flattering girl – keep them coming, I like it.
A Hui Hou,
Wayne
Aloha Wayne,
Another great day, and a bonus that the putter heated up. Sounds like the 18th hole is doing its part to keep golf ball manufacturers in business. I’d love to tackle it some day.
Cheers
Josh
Aloha Josh,
I must admit, the laughs come easier when the putts are dropping. I would love to show you and Beth the golf courses here – come play golf with me.
A Hui Hou,
Wayne
Aloha Wayne,
Isn’t that the truth! We sure plan on taking you up on your offer sometime. Would be a lot of fun.
Cheers
Josh
