Golf Boarding at the Makai Golf Course –

Oh yeah, this was FUN –
The Makai Golf Course, on the north shore of Kauai, is offering Golf Boards as an alternative to golf carts. You bet I had to try this.
On May 7th 2015 I called my buddies Danny and Linda Lyons and we played the Makai Course from the Golf Boards. (Click on the pictures for a larger view – then use the browser ‘back’ button.)

We thought this would be fun – and we were right. The fun started at the brief training session. I suspected I would have some amusing video of Wayne falling on his butt. Sorry to disappoint but it didn’t work out that way – these things are easy to ride. (Click on the picture below to play the video.)

It probably should hurt my pride – but I think Linda caught on to riding the boards the quickest.

And of course Danny just kept getting better and better – by the 13th hole I think he equaled Linda.

The Golf Boards were fun, but the sheer beauty of the Makai Course is also a joy in itself.

The excitement of riding the Golf Boards and just plain gawking at the scenery probably hurt out score – but nobody was frowning.

This was all of the fun we expected – this was the way golf should be.

Those thing are a hoot!! We put a lot more miles on them than was necessary for golf. Our standard joke became “Damn, I hit the green. Now I have to get off”. Give it a try when you get a chance.
