Round Played: with Kelly and Deborah Rich –

Cleaning out the Rust –
On May 3rd 2015 I played the Kauai Lagoons Golf Course with Kelly and Deborah Rich from Santa Cruz, California. I played so poorly the last time that I wanted to clean out some of the rust. My wife, Sally, came along to make sure I had fun doing it. (Click on the pictures for a larger view – then use the browser ‘back’ button.)
.
.
This was a photogenic and fun group. We laughed and celebrated everything – even the pleasant discoveries.
.
.
The concentration really helped. I didn’t qualify for the US Open on this day, but I played much better. And Sally continued to take great pictures (who knew she had talent for that).
.
.
.
Out by the ocean I had no trouble getting people to smile for pictures. You just have to smile out there. And I continued to strike the ball well, so you can bet I was smiling also.
.
.
On 14 I had a birdie putt. It was really long, all the way across the green and up a slope, but it was a birdie putt. I concentrated and rolled the ball up to within a couple of inches of the cup. This brought out the ‘coach’ in Sally.
.
Since Sally had ‘coached’ a birdie on 16 the day before – she felt challenged to repeat it. So, I had to both play and take pictures while she worked.

This was a great day on the course. Great friends – great shots – great times. It was the way golf should be.
Come play golf with me.

Aloha Wayne,
Glad you knocked some of that rust off. Qualifying for the US Open is almost a formality next time! Did Kelly and Deborah mention their local gem in Santa Cruz, Pasatiempo? One of my favorites.
Cheers
Josh
Aloha Josh,
Thank you. Maybe they mentioned Pasatiempo to Sally but I did not hear it. However it is on my list now based on your recommendation.
A Hui Hou,
Wayne
Wayne, great pics. Your course looks lovely and keep up the good playing!
Brian
Aloha Brian,
Thank you. It really did feel good to play better – even if Sally did put me to shame with the camera.
A Hui hou,
Wayne
