Round Played: with Chris Eggleston –

By Wayne Halm –

Just another routine birdie –

On April 7th 2015 I played the Kauai Lagoons Golf Club with Chris Eggleston from Boise, Idaho.  (Click on the pictures for a larger view – then use the browser ‘back’ button.)

This was a good pairing, we started laughing before we left the clubhouse.

We played as a two-some and on the 5th hole we caught up with the group in front.  They tried to wave us through.

They waved us up – but we were facing this shot. Yeah, we both landed in the canyon.

.

The group ahead putted out and move to the 6th tee.  We finished the hole and they again asked us if we wanted to play through – we accepted.

This time we nailed the tee shots and never looked back.

Chris will tell you that he has a baseball swing – I will tell you that he hits the ball a long way.  However, as the video below shows, it doesn’t always work out well – but even then he laughs about it.  (click on the picture below to watch the video)

.

Chris is a fun character – a collection of contrasts really.  Note his reaction to the ocean below.

nnnn

Well, he is from Idaho and doesn’t get to see the ocean often.

.

Now compare that picture to his reaction to making a birdie putt on 16 in the video below.  (click on the picture below to watch the video)

.

I honestly believe that if I hadn’t cheered a little he would have simply walked back to the cart and written a 3 on the card – just another routine birdie!

This was another great day on the golf course – we laughed, we joked, and we got to know each other.  It was the way golf should be.

Come play golf with me.
