Can old guys have fun — you bet they can –
On February 5th 2015 I played the front nine of the Kauai Lagoons course with Dwight Schmitt from Larkspur, Colorado. He is a great guy and knows some good stories. (Click on the pictures for a larger view – then use the browser ‘back’ button.)

This was a fun day, our big dogs were barking well and not sending balls into the trees. This has not always been the case with me.
Golf balls must make good fertilizer because the bushes on the right were only waist high when I started hitting balls into them six years ago.
I started the round way over my head – three pars. Then my ‘game’ came back. I was still hitting some good shots, I just couldn’t string four of them together.
Dwight made an impressive par on the 8th hole. That put smiles on our faces – hi-fives and atta-boys.
Me? I splashed my tee shot, dropped, and did nothing impressive – I walked away with a double.
Okay, maybe Dwight and I didn’t walk off the course bragging about our scores. We walked off remembering the good times – yes, there were pars. (I haven’t totally forgotten the 3 putt – but I can’t recall which hole it was on.) That’s the way golf should be.
