Round Played: with Stefanie Cargill –

Golf is about FUN – and sometimes it is ALL about fun –
On December 27th 2014 I played the Kauai Lagoons course with Stefanie Cargill from Secaucus, New Jersey. We were golfing, but our “stated mission” was to have fun – mission accomplished.

Stefanie is a senior producer at MSNBC, a great person, and a beginning golfer. In a nod to golf, we worked on her game a little and went over the Scramble Format. But we knew that Rome wasn’t built in a day. So we eased up and started to appreciate the beauty of the course – and fun just started to happen. That’s the way I think golf should be.
Stefanie realized that it is going to take a lot more practice to put this shot in her bag.
I admit over by the ocean fun got the upper hand. We succumbed to it – the views just crushed any concentration on golf.
We talked about whales, sailing and surfing – only occasionally did golf get mentioned.
And of course there was the need for pictures. The scenery here absolutely requires a pause for pictures.
If you golf with Wayne there are going to be pictures.
It is the ‘deal’ Wayne makes with the courses – he leaves golf balls and takes pictures.
We got in our round. Stefanie is a little better golfer now – and more importantly we came back to the clubhouse laughing – the way golf should be.
