Golf Story: Wine Glass Technology –

I sometimes sip wine and other adult beverages while talking about golf – so I’m classifying this as a Golf Story.

A while back my wife, Sally, brought home these metal cups and proudly announced, “Now we have the latest in Wine Glass Technology.”

The Latest in Wine Glass Technology – They looked a little Roman-ish to me.

I was flabbergasted. No words came to mind – not once had I ever thought about ‘Wine Glass Technology’.  Briefly “ridiculous” came to mind, but it was closely followed by the idea of Golf Club Technology and I wisely kept my mouth closed.

Sally knows lots of things that I don’t – so I trusted her judgment on this.  After all she did throw out my plastic cups and buy me a set of the “Perfect Scotch Glasses.”

The Perfect Scotch Glass – perhaps a tad small but perfectly serviceable.

Reflecting on the idea of Wine Glass Technology, I became surprised.  I thought we were respectively represented.  Perhaps even contenders – but NO, we were in danger of being out-classed.

We do own a few sets of wine glasses – but the only thing I know for certain is: whichever one I take out is ‘wrong’ for the wine.

I had no idea the field of Wine Glass Technology was so competitive – and I don’t want to know the consequences of falling behind.  Fortunately with Sally around I have no worries there – I can concentrate on my putting stroke.

So all of you golfers still living in the “Wine Glass Dark Ages”, my advice is: get caught up – then ….
