Round Played: with Elke and Alessandro Ochy –

On August 6th 2014 I played the Kauai Lagoons course with Elke Ochy and her son, Alessandro, from Zurich Switzerland.
We were trying to get this round in before Hurricane Iselle arrived. Prospects did not look good in the morning – then the weather cleared up and it was a great day.
Elke was impressed with the golf course. She liked that there are no houses lining the course as in Switzerland – it takes some of the worry out of golf.
Then we got to the Ocean and the scenery overwhelmed her. Her reaction made me appreciate my situation – and I allowed it to distract me too. And of course, my scores reflected that distraction.
Alessandro on the other hand, just kept his head down – and kept posting good scores. The lad is a golfing machine.
At the end of the round Elke commented that our play had room for improvement. I agree – she and I could have hit our tee shots a little farther – and Alessandro could have made a couple more of his frequent birdie putts.
We all left the course happy, laughing, and making plans to play again sometime – the way a round of golf should end.
