Round Played: with Bill Beltz –

On July 29th 2014 I played the Kauai Lagoons course with Bill Beltz of Chandler, Arizona – his wife Karen rode along with us. Karen was kind enough to take pictures – for once there are some pictures of me. So you golfers can admire my swing – or snicker – whichever.
This was a great day – partly cloudy, mid 80s, and moderate trade winds – and we started laughing before we left the clubhouse. It was the way golf should be.
My day was bolstered by my driver – it worked well. Maybe my slump is over. Frequently Bill’s drive and mine were right together. This gave us more time to tell stories – which was also good.
Both Bill and I aggressively went after the greens – and spent some time in the bunkers, which gave us even more time for story telling.
I hit some really good shots, but there was one really bad one – and Karen caught it on the camera. (The picture is attached below.) I nearly fell down on the follow through. I don’t know what happened, a friend of mine says that I sometimes go “brain dead” – looking at the picture I can’t argue.
This was a good day, and we were not about to let a few bad shots ruin it. We even got through 17 and 18 laughing – so much so that we decided to play again on Friday. That’s the way golf should be.
