Round Played: with Doug Pang and Steve Ryan –

On May 22nd, 2014 I played the Kauai Lagoons Course with Doug Pang and Steve Ryan of Detroit, Michigan. These guys were out to have a good time and fit right into my ‘resort golf’ game. We had a good time.
It was a sunny day, the winds were light, and the course was in good shape – even in the areas we explored. The pace of play (PoP) was good, we kept up in spite of my numerous 3 putts – it was a good day to golf on Kauai.
We paused to open macadamia nuts, you can’t really eat them right off the tree – they taste like raw peanuts until they are roasted. Still, it is neat to see where they come from.
We gawked and took pictures on the four ocean holes, Steve and Doug thought them absolutely beautiful – I think they are right.
I pared both 16 and 17! That’s quite an accomplishment for me – and the day just got better.
Steve decided to ‘tin-cup’ the 18th hole. After the third ball in the water Doug and I were laughing so hard the clubhouse crew came out to watch. Steve got on the green, and we finished a great round with laughs and smiles – the way it should be.
